on the first day, he drove 8 kilometers more
than half of his distance on the second day.
8 + x/2 + x = 68
x/2 + x = 68 - 8
x/2 + x = 60
Common denominator = 2
x + 2x = 12
3x = 120
x = 40
First day he travelled 28 km
Second day he travelled 40 km.
