Let x = no traffic speed
Then
(x-12) = traffic speed
:
Write a distance equation: distance = time * speed
:
traffic dist = no traffic dist
5(x-12) = 4x
5x - 60 = 4x
5x - 4x = +60
x = 60 mph with no traffic

Find the distance:
4 * 60 = 240 mi
