The clock loses 128 secs in 32 hours
that is 128 secs in 64 half hours
or 2 secs per 1/2 hr

From noon Monday to noon Tuesday is 24 hours
From noon Tuesday to 8pm Tuesday is 8 hours
Total of 32 hours and the clock lost 128 seconds
Therefore in 1 hour the clock lost 128/32 = 4 seconds
So in half an hour it lost 4/2 = 2 seconds
Hope this helps :-)

A clock was exactly on time at noon Monday. At 8pm on Tuesday, it was 128 second slow. At that same rate, how much did it lose in 1/2 hour?
With a loss of 128 seconds in 32 (noon - 8:00 PM following day) hours, and with T being time lost, we get:

32T = 64 ------- Cross-multiplying
T, or time lost = , or seconds
