Question 976558: 2 trains leaving the station at the same time, going to the same place 120 miles away. Train 1 non stop at 60 mph, train 2 at 90 mph has to stop for 15 minutes on the way. Which train arrives first?
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The first train would take 2 hours to make the journey.
The second train would make the journey in 1 1/3 hours
1 1/3 hours = 1 hour 20 minutes.
So, even with the 15 minute stop. Train 2 will make the journey
in 1 hour 35 minutes, 25 minutes faster than train 1.
Hope this helps:-)
