kilometer per hour. How fast would Kaitlin swim if there were no current?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
speed = x kph
(x-1)*t=8; 8/(x-1)= t units are km
(x+1)t=16; 16/(x+1)=t
Set them equal to each other
8/(x-1)=16/(x+1)
cross multiply
8x+8=16x-16
-8x=-24
x=3 kph
2kph against; 4kph with
Took her 4 hours to go 8 kph against
Took her 4 hours to go 16 kph with
