Question 97020: If the speed of light is 3.00 x 10^8 m/sec, how long does it take to travel 2.29 x 10^11?
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Distance=speed*time
d=st t=d/s
How we got 10^2. when we divide 10^11 by 10^8 we subtract the powers to get 10^3.
2.29/3=.763...
we move the decimal point to the right 1 space giving 7.63...
we decrease the power of 10^3 to 10^2 to account for moving the decimal point.
