Type Your QuestionTwo cars leave town's for 400 km apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One car's rate is 10 km per hour less than the others. If they me in 2 hours what is the rate of the slower car?
***
x=rate of slower car
x+10=rate of faster car
The 2 cars are moving toward each other at a rate=x+(10+x)=2x+10
travel time=distance/rate
400/(2x+10)=2
4x+20=400
4x=380
x=95
what is the rate of the slower car? 95 km/hr
