Charles took 2 hr longer to drive 240 mi on the first day of a vacation trip than to drive 144 mi on the second day. If his average driving rate was the same on both days, what was his driving time for each of the days?
***
let x=driving rate for both days
travel time=distance/rate

96/x=2
x=48
240/48=5
144/48=3
travel time on first day=5 hrs
travel time on second day=3 hrs
