Question 96341: This is from a teacher created worksheet. A carrier and a destroyer left the same port at 8:00am and sailed in the same direction. The carrier averaged 30km/h and the destroyer traveled at 75km/h. At what time will they be 375 km apart.

T=375/45
T=8.333 HOURS AFTER THEY LEAVE THEY WILL BE 375 KM APART.
8:00+8:20=16:20 OR 4:20 PM.
PROOF
75*8.333-30*8.333=375
625-250=375
375=375
