A man has 2 hours to disposal.
If he travels 2okm per hour at two hours and return back by walking at the rate of 5km per hour.
How far he travels?
:
let d = the one way distance
:
Write a time equation; time = dist/speed
:
Time out + time back = 2hrs
+ = 2
multiply equation by 20, cancel the denominators
d + 4d = 20(2)
5d = 40
d = 40/5
d = 8 * 2 = 16 km traveled
