Let speed of slower plane be S
Then speed of faster plane = S + 50
We then get: 2S + 2(S + 50) = 2,100
2S + 2S + 100 = 2,100
4S = 2,000
S, or slower plane's speed = , or mph
Faster plane's speed: 500 + 50, or mph
