Question 947813: Two trains leave the station at the same time 224 miles apart. One train travels 60 miles per hour, the other travel 80 miles per hour. How long will it take them to meet?
Answer by amarjeeth123(570) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the trains meet in x hours.
Distance=speed*time
Distance traveled by the first train is 60x.
Distance traveled by the second train is 80x.
60x+80x=224
140x=224
20x=32
x=1.6 hours
The two trains meet in 1.6 hours.
