Question 943058: Hey please help me. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to set this up. I think I'm supposed to find the distance but I'm not really sure. thanks!
Suppose that the you are 570 miles from home. You get in your car and start driving straight home at a rate of 60 miles per hour. Write an equation to describe that the distance from home at any time x hours after starting to drive. Use D to represent distance from home and x to represent time in hours (Assume you do not stop at any time on the trip and that you are driving on an interstate and can keep a constant speed.)

We need to find a linear function such that the y-intercept is 570 and the slope is -60. The linear function is represented by
D = 570 - 60x [Answer]
where x = time in hours and D = distance from home in miles.
