A youth organization collected nickels and dimes for a charity drive.by the end of the 1-day drive , the youth had collected $65.25.If there were four times as many dimes as nickels how many of each type of coin was collected ?
------------------
Quantity:: d = 4n
----
Value:: 5n + 10d = 6525 cents
----
Substitute for "d" and solve for "n"::
5n + 10(4n) = 6525
45n = 6525
n = 145 (# of nickels)
Solve for "d"
d = 4n
d = 4*145 = 500 (# of nickels)
