two trucks are driving a quarter mile
One in going 30 mph
Other one is going 15 mph with a 20 second head start
:
Use the decimal equiv of 1/4 mile, .25
Find the travel time of he 1st truck in seconds
* 3600 = 30 seconds
:
Find the travel time of the 2nd truck
* 3600 = 60 seconds
With a 20 sec head start, would still require 40 more seconds to finish
The first truck will only requires 30 seconds, so it will win
