If a Truck A is going 30 MPH and Truck B is going 15 MPH with a twenty second head start, and both trucks are going a quarter of a mile, which will reach the end first?
-------------
1/4 = 1320 feet
30 mi/hr = 44 ft/sec
15 mi/hr = 22 ft/sec
---
In 20 seconds, truck B is 22*20 = 440 ft ahead leaving 1320 - 440 = 880 ft to go.
880/22 = 40 seconds to finish.
---
Truck A: 1320/44 = 30 seconds to finish
=============
Truck A arrives 10 seconds before truck B
