Question 9328: At a certain time two airplanes start from the same airport and travel in opposite directions at 350 mph and 325 mph respectively. In how many hours will they be 2025 miles apart? (I appreciate the help.)
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is easier than it looks. Let x = time of each plane.
Then the respective distances traveled are 350x and 325x.
You need to find x, where the total distance between the planes is
350x + 325x = 2025
675x = 2025
Isn't it great how (sometimes!) math comes out even??
