Question 931871: If I am standing two hundred feet away from a deer, and the deer is running 20 mph and my bullet goes 2000 feet per second, how many feet ahead should I aim to hit the deer? The deer runs in a straight line and the bullet goes straight and doesn't lose speed. I think I might have to convert some units but I'm not quite sure...thank you!

20 miles/hour * (5280 feet/mile) * (1/(60*60) hour/second) = 29.33333333 ft/sec

s = d/t
t = d/s
t = 200/2000
t = 0.1 second

s = d/t

d = 29.33333333 * 0.1
d = 2.933333333 feet
