Question 929019: Julies loves to go to the bowling alley on Friday nights. It just so happens that in bowling, the length of the lane the ball travels down, is the same distance the pitcher has to throw the ball in baseball (60 feet). It only takes Julie's bowling ball 2.92 seconds to go down the lane and hit the pins. How fast can she throw the ball in miles per hour?
Answer by TimothyLamb(4379)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(60 feet / 2.92 seconds) * (1/5280 mile/feet) * (60*60 seconds/hour)
(60/2.92) * (1/5280) * (60*60)
14.01 mph
