Ericka drives from school to soccer practice 1.3 miles away. it takes her 7 minutes. What fraction represents her constant speed if it takes her x minutes to drive exactly 1 mile?
------
time = distance/rate
time = 1.3 miles/7 minutes = 0.1857 miles/min
-----
x = (1/0.1857)min/mile
x = 5.3846 min/mile
x = 5.3846 minutes per one mile

Answer by TimothyLamb(4379)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
s = d/t
---
in miles per hour:
s = 1.3 miles / (7 minutes * 1/60 hour/minutes)
s = 1.3*60 / 7
s = 78 / 7 mph
s = 11.1 mph
---
in miles per minute:
s = 1.3 miles / 7 minutes
s = 1.3 / 7 miles/minute
---
in minutes per mile:
x = minutes/mile
x = 7 / 1.3
x = 5.38461538462
---
constant speed in miles per minute
s = 1 / 5.38461538462
