Let westbound (faster) train’s speed be S

Then eastbound (slower) train’s speed = S – 16

Sum of trains’ speeds: miles apart, divided by time taken to be a certain amount of miles apart, or, , or 200 mph

Therefore, we get: S + S – 16 = 200

2S = 200 + 16

2S = 216

S, or speed of westbound (faster) train = , or  mph
