Gaining speed 60-45= 15 mph
Head start 45*3 =135 miles
Time to catch up 135/15=9 hours
Algebraic solution
45(t+3)=60t
45t+135=60t
135=60t-45t
135=15t
t=9 hours
Distance to meeting 9*60=540 miles
