Gaining speed 80 -40= 40 mph
Headstart 40*1 =40 miles
Time to catch up 40/40=1 hours
Algebraic solution
40(t+1)=80t
40t+40=80t
40=80t-40t
40=40t
t=1 hours
Distance to meeting 1*80=80 miles
