Question 909845: two trains leave the city at the same time, one travels north and the other south at 20mph faster. IN 2 hours the trains are 280 miles apart find their rates?
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
r speed of slower train
D = rt
2r + 2(r+20) = 280mi
4r = 240
r = 60mph, speed of slower train. Faster train, 80mph
And
120mi + 160m = 280mi
