I think the train's conductors are smart. I'd be hightailing it out of Detroit as fast as possible!
The first train has a 140km head start. So what you need to find is 1430-140=1290. Together they travel 70+90=160 kmh. 1290/160=8.0625 hours. Add that to the 2 hours head start to get 10 hours 37.5 minutes.

distance=speed*travel time
90x+70(x+2)=1430
