Question 908258: A train travels 100 km in 4 hrs and 130 km in 2hrs. Find the average speed over the 6 hra
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Total distance traveled = 100 + 130 = 230
Divide by time traveled. 230/6 = 38.km/hr
Or did you mean that it travels 100km/hr for 4 hours and 130km/hr for 2 hours?
In that case, it travels 400km in the first four hours and 260km in the fifth & sixth hour, for a total distance of 660km. Divide that by 6 to get an average speed of 110km/hr.
