gaining speed 60 -40= 20 mph
headstart 40*0.125 =5 miles
time to catch up 5/20=0.25 hours
time to catch up =15 minutes
algebraic solution
40(t+0.125)=60t
40t+5.0=60t
5.0=60t-40t
5.0=20t
0.25=t
.25*60=15 miles to catch up
