Question 901210: You buy a new car with a fuel efficiency of 31 miles per gallon on the highway and 26 miles per gallon in town. The gas tank holds 12.9 gallons. How far can you travel on the highway in your new car with a full tank of gas?
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming that the fuel efficiency is correct (they're often inflated), you can travel 12.9 gallons * 31 mpg, or 399.9 miles.
The in-town mileage is superfluous information.
