From Wednesday you drove home from work at 58 mph and got there in 50 minutes.
On Thursday you drove 6mph faster.
How much time did you save? Round answer to the nearest 10th.
:
Find the distance in miles, 50 min = 5/6 hr
5/6 * 58 = 48.33 miles
:
6mph faster = 64 mph; find the time required to travel 48.33 mi
48.33/64 = .7552 hrs
change to minutes
.7552 * 60 = 45.3 min
Find how much time saved: 50 - 45.3 = 4.7 minutes
