Question 890973: A plane leaves an airport flying north at 800 km/h. At the same time another plane leaves the same airport and flies south at 750 km/h. In how many hours will they be 4650 kilometres apart?
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since they are flying directly opposite one another, we can add their speeds together to find out how far they fly in one hour.
800 kmh + 750 kmh = 1550 kmh
Each hour they are 1550 km further apart.
4650 / 1550 = 3 hours
