1/2 mile in 8 seconds is equal to 1/16 of a mile in one second.

multiply this by 60 and you get 60/16 of a mile in 1 minute.

multiply this by 60 and you get 3600 / 16 of a mile in 1 hour.

60/16 = 3.75 miles per minute.

3600/16 = 225 miles per hour.

it's not likely that you were moving that fast on a snowboard.

even the fastest downhill skiers are running at somewhere between 70 and 100 miles per hour.
