Question 887470: This is a personal question, but I'm having a hard time finding the answer.
My name is Connor. I'm 15 and I like to bike, I can travel 1.7km in 4 minutes (including a slight hill for the most of the length.
I'm wondering how long it would take me to bike 214km.
I had done a bit of math being the following:
214 / 1.7 * 4 / 60 = 8.39.
Starting with the total distance (214km) divided by the distance I traveled yesterday night (1.7km) multiplied by the minutes it took me to travel the 1.7km (4minutes) divided by the total minutes in an hour(60 minutes) which sums up to 8.39. I just want to make sure this math is correct due to the fact it is summer and I'm making sure I remember some mathematic skills.
Please respond to this question asap because it will make me very happy :), thank you, have a great day!

What is speed? d = distance, t = time, then speed is and the dimensions used are LENGTH/TIME. You are naturally expecting that your ratio between d and t is a constant . You may need to keep the units in place, so that each unit corresponds to the correct number in the ratio.
How much time to go 214 km?
. That is how many MINUTES.
