Question 885610: If a person walked 4 miles every hour and a half. How many hours would it take them to walk 68 miles?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
68 miles / 4 miles in each segment = seventeen 4 mile segments.
each 4 mile segment takes 1.5 hours.
the total time has to be 1.5 * 17 = 25.5 hours.
you can also solve this by finding the number of hours per mile.
1.5 hours divided by 4 miles equals .375 hours per mile.
multiply 68 by .375 and you get 25.5 hours.
you can also solve this by finding the number of miles per hour.
4 miles divided by 1.5 hours equals 2 and 2/3 miles per hour.
divide 68 by 2 and 2/3 miles per hour and you get 25.5 hours.
