(24 mpg)*(x gallons) = 205 miles

24x = 205

x = 205/24

x = 8.54166666666667

Round up to get 9 gallons. You need 9 gallons of gas to drive 205 miles.

(9 gallons)*($4 dollars/1 gallon) = 9*4 = 36

So you would need $36 to buy 9 gallons of gas. This will let you travel about 216 miles.

If you want to fill up all 16 gallons, then it will cost you 4*16 = 64 dollars to fill the entire 16 gallon gas tank.
