Question 879682: two cars leave a rest stop on the freeway at the same time, but travel in opposite directions. one car is traveling at 65 mph and the other car is traveling at 70 mph. how long will it take for the two cars to be 348 miles apart?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Car I 70 mph
Car II 65 mph
They are moving in opposite directions
so effective speed = 135 mph
Distance = 348 miles
Time = distance/speed
Time = 348 / 135
Time = 2.58 hours
Time they will be 348 miles apart 2 hours 35 minutes
