Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
circumference(C) of a sphere = 2*pi*r
C = 2 * (22/7) * 3960 = 24891.42857
now there are 360 degrees in a circle so a degree of latitude(l) is
l = 24891.42857 / 360 = 69.143 miles, therefore
the distance (d) in miles from the town to the north pole is
d = 69.143 * 32 = 2212.576 approx 2213 miles
