5 mph with an hour and a half head start?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the person walking would have walked 1.5*5 = 7.5 miles when the runner starts
the catch up speed is 12-5=7 mph
catch up time = catch up distance / catchup speed
= 7.5/7
=1.07 hours
