Question 869726: Sandra takes 6 hours to drive 300 miles. If she increases her speed 5 mi/h, how many hours will it take her to drive 440 miles?
Answer by ramkikk66(644) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
She drives 300 miles in 6 hours.
Average speed = distance / time = 300/6 = 50 mph
If she increases by 5 mph, her new speed is 55 mph
Time = Distance / average speed
So time taken to drive 440 miles = 440/55 = 8 hours.
Hope you got it :)
