Question 862189: how many feet would a car travel if going 43mph in 6.5 seconds?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 hour is equal to 60 * 60 = 3600 seconds.
1 mile is equal to 5280 feet.

it is sometimes easier to do the conversions up front.

if the car is traveling 43 miles in one hour, then:
43 miles * 5280 = 227040 feet.

1 hour * 3600 = 3600 seconds.

the car is traveling 227040 feet in 3600 seconds.

divide 227040 feet by 3600 and you get the car traveling 227040/3600 feet in one second.

convert this to decimals and the car is traveling 63.0667 feet per second.

multiply this by 6.5 seconds and the car has traveled 63.0667 * 6.5 = 409.9333 feet.
