Question 859553: If you drive for a constant speed of 55mph and stop for 30 minutes every 165 miles and you drove 1375 miles how long did you drive
Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The stopped/down time is irrelevant to the driving time.
1375/55=25 hours driving.
If you had asked for the time for the trip including down time.
1375/165= 8 1/3
so you stopped 8 times for 30 minutes which is 4 hours of stopped time.
You stopped for 30 minutes every three hours.
so that would be 29 hours for the trip.
