Question 856876: Please help my 15 year old son with this physics question if you can:
A Car starts driving up a hill which has a 30 degree slope. It's initial speed is 20m/s when the engine stalls. How far does the car roll up the hill before coming to a stop?
He has calculated 30.63 metres - can anyone tell us if this is correct please - much appreciated.

Assuming no friction forces, the component of gravity does work equal to the kinetic energy of the car when it stalls.
