When this happens they both will have traveled the same distance
Write a dist equation; dist= speed * time
7t = 5(t+.5)
7t = 5t + 2.5
7t - 5t = 2.5
2t = 2.5
t = 2.5/2
t = 1.25 hrs for D to catch L
