Question 814860: Two trains leave the same station at the same time, moving in opposite directions. One train averages 95 kilometers per hour and the other averages 115 kilometers per hour. After how many hours will the trains be 525 kilometers apart? Express your answer as a mixed number. Include a formula.
My dad helped me with this problem before he left. He said it will take 2 1/2 hours when the trains are 525 kilometers apart, but I don't know how he got it.

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
95t+115t=525
add them
210t=525
t=525/210
t=2 1/2
Why didn't you pay attention and ask questions when your dad was there?
