∩ne car travels 5 miles per hour faster than "speed "x" of the other car

in the opposite direction

After 4 hours the two cars are 420mi apart

 4x + 4(x + 5mph) = 420mi

   8x = 400

    x = 50mph, speed of slower car, faster car's speed is 55mph
