Question 801897: a car traveling at 75mph is passed by a second car going in the same direction at a constant speed . after 30 seconds the two cars are (1/4)mile apart. find the speed of the second car.
Answer by htmentor(1343) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let s = the speed of the 2nd car
Their relative speed = s - 75
s - 75 = (1/4 mi)/(1/120 hr) = 30 mi/hr
s = 105 mi/hr
