Question 799935: An pilot of an airplane in flight locks down at a point on the ground that is some distance away. the angle of depression is 28 degrees, and the plane's altitude is 1200 meters. what is the distance from the pilot to the point on the ground?
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Cos x = Adjacent/Hypotenuse
Cos 28 = 1200/hypotenuse
Hypotenuse = 1200/cos 28
Hypotenuse = 1359.1 meters.
This is the distance from the pilot
to the point on the ground.
Hope this helps.
