Question 784413: Two trains leave cities 380 miles apart at 8:00 a.m. traveling toward each other. One train travels at 50 mph the other train travels at 45 mph. At what time do they pass each other?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39615) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The trains pass eachother when the sum of their distances is 380 miles.
50*h+45*h=380 for some time h in hours.
95h=380
h=380/95=4
h = 4 hours.
