Answer by MathTherapy(10552) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A bicyclist travels 25 km at a constant velocity for 0.70 h. She then travels 65 km for 1.3 h at a different constant velocity. Determine the average velocity for the entire trip.
Thanks so much!
Let average speed be S
Total distance covered: (25 * 0.7) + (65 * 1.3), or 17.5 + 84.5, or 102 km
Total time = .7 + 1.3, or 2 hours
Average speed equals total distance, divided by total time
Therefore, average speed = , or km/h
You can do the check!!
