Question 781456: The Word Problem:
An airplane flying against the wind travels 415 miles in the same amount of time it would take the same plane to travel 435 miles with the wind. If the wind speed is a constant 20 miles per hour, how fast would the plane travel in still air?
My Trouble:
I can't figure out how to set up the problem. If I could have help setting up the proper equation, then I can work it out to a solution easy enough.

An airplane flying against the wind travels 415 miles in the same amount of time it would take the same plane to travel 435 miles with the wind.
If the wind speed is a constant 20 miles per hour, how fast would the plane travel in still air?
:
Let s = speed of plane in still air
then
(s+20) = ground speed with the wind
and
(s-20) = ground speed against the wind
:
Write a time equation t = dist/speed
:
=
