Question 775625: A and B start at the same time from two points 102 miles apart, traveling toward each other. If A's rate is 4.5 miles per hour and B's rate is 12.5 miles per hour, how long will they travel before they meet?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
since they start at same time taken by both is same
let time be t
speed of one is 4.5 mph
speed of second is 12.5 mph
they are moving towards each other so effective speed = 4.5+12.5 = 17 mph

t= d/r
t= 102/17
t=6
6 hours
